What is a LCSW?
Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) are professionals who help people cope with a variety of challenges, including mental health problems, family issues, and life transitions. LCSWs are trained to assess and diagnose mental health problems, develop treatment plans, and provide therapy. They also work with individuals, families, and groups to improve their coping skills and overall well-being.
LCSWs are licensed by the state in which they practice. To become an LCSW, you must have a master's degree in social work (MSW) and complete a supervised clinical internship. LCSWs must also pass a licensing exam.
LCSWs work in a variety of settings, including private practice, hospitals, schools, and community agencies. They may also work with government agencies, such as the Department of Social Services or the Department of Mental Health.
If you are struggling with a mental health problem, family issue, or life transition, an LCSW can help you get the support you need. LCSWs are trained to provide therapy and other services that can help you improve your mental health and well-being.
